Highland Square Opera Company

Akron's premier opera company, headquartered in the historic arts and cultural center of Highland Square

We specialize in the Italian opera canon—classically staged, fully costumed, with live music provided by the famous Highland Square Orchestra. Wherever there is an audience, we perform: bars, festivals, house parties, theaters.

Aidan Kilker, Director

West-of-Akron native Aidan Kilker studied voice at the prestigious Aurora School of Music, performing in baritone roles including Nozze di Figaro's Figaro and Papageno from Die Zauberflöte. Prior to embarking on his opera career, Aidan performed as lead singer and songwriter for the critically acclaimed Northeast Ohio rock band The Andy Johnson Explosion. He currently lives in West Akron with his family, and volunteers at Dream Team Youth Boxing in Kenmore.
